Sammy was a little snail. Toby was a big tortoise(乌龟). They were good friends. They lived together in a deep well. One day, they wanted to see the world outside. So they planned to climb out together.
Toby climbed fast. He could climb 3 metres each day. Sammy climbed slowly. He could climb 2 metres each day. But every night, they both slid(滑动) down 1 metre.
Sammy felt sad because he was slow. “Don’t worry,” said Toby. “We are friends. We can do this together. I will wait for you at the top!”
The next day, they kept climbing. On Day 5, Toby climbed 1 metre and reached the top! He did not forget Sammy. “Come on, Sammy. You can do this!” Toby said loudly.
Sammy didn’t stop. He kept climbing. On Day 8, Sammy finally reached the top! Toby gave him a big hug. “We did it!” they shouted together.
“Look, Toby! Everything is so big and beautiful!” Sammy said excitedly.
“Yes! And this is just the beginning of our adventures!” Toby said happily.
