It's the twelfth of April. It's Sunday today. It's Mum's birthday.
“Do we go out today?” she asks. “I need to clean the car,” answers Dad. The kids shake(摇动) their heads. They all have other plans. Mum is sad. “They all forget my birthday,” she thinks. She decides to go to the cinema alone.
When the door is closed, Dad smiles. “Good!” he says. “We have lots of things to do before the party. Come on, kids!” Mark takes out a shopping list. “I’ll go shopping,” he says and goes out. “We’ll clean the rooms,” say Ken and Jane.
An hour later, Ken smells something good. “Do you make a cake?” he asks Dad. “Yes,” says Dad. Mark is back with the shopping. “What’s that noise?” he shouts. “It’s Jane,” says Ken. “She puts the presents behind the sofa.”
Three hours later, everything is ready. “Where’s Mum?” asks Ken. Dad points at his smartphone and says, “Look! There’s a message!”

“Come on, kids!” says Dad. “This will be a really surprising party!”
