It's great to hear from you!My life in Grade 8 is busy but interesting as well. I get along well with my classmates and teachers because they're all very kind and friendly.
Speaking of hands-on activities, I had an exciting experience last month when I helped my mum put in a light in her study. It felt great to finish the task by myself.
This year, I learn to make study plans beforehand and take notes carefully. These habits really help me improve my schoolwork a lot. If you have trouble focusing, here's my suggestion: Don't check your smartphone from time to time while studying. Also, try to find out the reason for your problem. Maybe you just need more short breaks?
