The robot Toby opens his eyes at four in the afternoon. Now it is time for him to work.
Toby looks out of the window. The sun shines brightly, and it is still hot. David, his master, asks him to turn on the air conditioner (空调) before he gets home. And he does
it. Then, Toby does some cleaning. It is an easy job for him, but a hard one for David. He keeps working until every room is clean and tidy.
Now he begins to make dinner for the family. Toby goes to the kitchen and gets a big pot (锅). Then, he puts some water in the pot and then puts the pot on the stove. He uses his right hand to cut up a chicken and add the pieces to the water to make a good soup. After that, he takes some vegetables, like cucumbers, cabbages (卷心菜) and carrots, and salad sauce out of the fridge. Soon, a vegetable salad is finished.
At ten to seven, he begins to set the table. He puts some bread, the chicken soup and the salad on it. What a sweet smell!
When he turns on the lights, David and his wife Helen come home. “The soup smells great, David,” says Helen. “You really know how to tell Toby what to do.”
Toby really helps the family do a lot of work. He is one of the family members.
