It is spring, but it is cold in Canada. Many people come to celebrate a sweet festival. It is the Maple Syrup Festival. There are many maple trees (枫树) in Canada. People call it “the land of maple leaves”. Some maple trees have sweet sap (汁, 液) inside. People put some bottles on the trees. They use
them to hold the sweet sap from March to April.
On a cold morning during the Maple Syrup Festival, my parents took me to a farm. The farm was big and clean.
An old man got some sap from the maple tree first, and then he boiled (煮沸) it. After a long time, the sap became a little yellow. The old man poured (倒) it on the snow, and it turned into snow candy.
It was time to eat! The candy was very nice. I felt excited to eat it. It was cold but sweet. Many people ate the candy. We had a good time.
The syrup is a natural gift in spring. It is popular. It is interesting to eat in this way. I think I will never forget the festival. I want to go to Canada again next year.
