In mountainous areas or Northern China, there is much snow in winter and it can fall even in other seasons.
Freezing rain（冻雨） usually happens in early or late winter. In China, places like Guizhou, Hubei and Hunan often get freezing rain then.
Do you know about freezing rain?
When snow falls through warm air, it melts（融化） and becomes rain. However, if the air near the ground is very cold, the rain freezes when it falls on the cold ground or objects. This is called freezing rain. It needs cold air high up, warm air in the middle, and cold air near the ground.
Rain is common in many places of China in spring and summer, but in some places like Hainan in China, it rains in every season.
However, in some places in China, like Shanxi, the four seasons are very different, and each season has its own weather.
Spring(March to May): It is windy and warm during the day, but cool at night, leading to a large temperature difference. There is not much rain in this season, so it's also dry.
Summer(June to August): It's hot and it rains a lot in this season.
Autumn(September to November): It's sunny and cool, but it gets cold at night.
Winter(December to February): It's very cold, with temperatures often below 0℃. The weather is also dry and windy. Sometimes, there is snow.
