Every morning in the past weeks, 18-year-old Shao Menglu has got up at 6:30 a. m. and been dressed in a uniform. By 7 a. m., she has been working at a mini
supermarket in her school.
“The Ningbo No. 7 High School students run(经营) the supermarket. It helps students learn more about a real business and helps them get ready for the future work,” Chen Ping, a teacher said.
The students don't work full-time because they have classes. Each class can run the supermarket for a week every term. The students are trained(培训) before they start.
Although the job kept Shao busy, she enjoyed her week. “I had to stand for up to six hours a day and say, ‘welcome’ with a smile,” Shao said, “But the busy life made me feel happy every day. The job also made me feel like an adult and helped me understand what I should prepare(准备) for my future work.”
