After walking for 21 days, the fox arrived in Greenland. She had travelled more than 900 miles. She had gone so far, so fast, that at first the scientists had a hard time believing she was travelling on her own. Could she be on a boat? No, that wasn't possible. Boats can't travel that far in the ice! Did the fox stop in Greenland to live atop the glaciers(冰川)? No. She kept going. In Greenland, the arctic fox trekked(长途跋涉). She trekked, and trekked, and trekked. Meanwhile, from a distance, scientists observed, recorded, and marvelled(大为赞叹).
Greenland isn't green—it's covered by a huge sheet of ice. The little fox used this slippery surface to travel farther and faster than before. Did the fox stop there? No. She kept going. On the great ice sheet, the arctic fox glided. She glided, and glided, and glided. Meanwhile, far away, scientists observed, recorded, and waited.
Eventually, she reached Canada. It's very cold in the Arctic Circle, too cold for many animals. But it's perfect for arctic foxes. They have some of the warmest fur in the animal kingdom. Did the fox stop there? No. She kept going. In Canada, the arctic fox explored. She explored, and explored, and explored. Meanwhile, very far away, scientists observed, recorded, and wondered.
After travelling for 76 days, the fox reached Ellesmere Island, the northernmost point of land in Canada. She had gone more than 2, 700 miles! Did the fox stop there to live in the mountainous land of the musk oxen? Yes, she did! She had seen many amazing sights, from the coastal shores of Svalbard, to the glaciers of Greenland, to the icy mountains of her new home. On Ellesmere Island, the arctic fox pranced, pounced, and played. Meanwhile, scientists observed, recorded, and learnt.
Then, one day, her tracking collar stopped working. Is she still living there, in the Great White North? No one knows. But now we understand how important the sea ice is to wild wanderers(流浪者) like her.

D 【解析】根据第五段中“Did the fox stop in Greenland to live atop the glaciers? No. She kept going.”和第六段中“Did the fox stop there? No. She kept going. On the great ice sheet, the arctic fox glided.”以及第七段中“Did the fox stop there? No. She kept going. In Canada, the arctic fox explored.”
13. A 【解析】根据第四段中“she found a path where the ice covered the ocean and she left the island. On a bridge made of ice, the arctic fox galloped”和第六段中“it's covered by a huge sheet of ice. The little fox used this slippery surface to travel farther and faster than before”可知,海冰形成了一条连接不同陆地的通道。
14. D 【解析】根据第三段中“In a valley by the sea, she began a remarkable journey.”

12题:作者多次重复“Did the fox stop...?”,每次回答均为“No.
