Chen-Ning Yang: A great physicist
(2026·南通市海门区期中)Chen-Ning Yang, who is considered one of the 20th century's g physicists, passed away at the age of 103. Born in China in 1922, he showed exceptional talent in mathematics and physics from his early years.
Yang received his early e in China during difficult times. He first studied at the National Southwestern Associated University, and then went to the United States in 1945 for f study. He worked very hard and finally obtained his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1948.
The year 1957 brought Yang worldwide recognition. Together with his colleague Tsung-Dao Lee, Yang was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for their theory of parity nonconservation in weak interaction. This m them the first Chinese scientists to receive this great honour.
