Hi Jialong,
How’s it going? I hope you’re doing well! I want to share something really cool with you: outdoor learning in my hometown!
Learning outside is perfect for us in Alaska because of the amazing natural world around us. Here in Wrangell, we have forests, mountains and the ocean, so there’s always something to explore. In our outdoor school, we spend a lot of time learning about animals and plants, and we get to see moose, bears and eagles up close! It’s really exciting.
We also practice survival skills in the wild, like building a fire, finding food and staying safe in difficult weather. One time, we even spent a night in the woods. What a challenge! We had to work together to build a place to stay and keep warm. We had so much fun, but we also learnt some very important skills.
For our PE lessons, we do a lot of exciting outdoor activities like hiking, skiing and ice hockey. These are all fun ways to stay active. At the same time, we get to learn so much about our environment.
I love how we get to learn outside of the classroom. It makes our lessons much more interesting. It’s really a great way for us to learn and grow.
