Do you like travelling(旅行)? Do you know that you can even help the Earth while travelling? Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring Scenic Area in Dunhuang, Gansu Province makes a green idea come to life(成为现实). And this idea can help take care of the Earth.
The scenic area introduces an “Exchange trash for gifts” activity. How does it work? Visitors can get a trash bag from the workers, pick up the trash around the site, and then exchange the trash for small gifts, such as keychains and fridge magnets. The activity begins at 8:30 p.m. every day. And one hour later, visitors can exchange their trash for gifts.
Mr Wang, one of the cleaners(清洁工), feels happy to see a lot of visitors helping pick up trash. “This has largely helped in my work,” he says.
Mrs Yang is a visitor from Tianjin. She had a great time at the scenic area with her child. Her child is excited to pick up trash for gifts. She thinks the activity is
meaningful. “It teaches children that they should not throw trash everywhere. Trash should be put in the right place. Everyone should take action to protect the environment,” she says.
