As the music began, a Sichuan Opera performer walked onto the stage. She quickly changed her masks while walking, kicking and dancing. No one found anything unusual(不寻常的). At the end of the show, the performer removed(移开)her last mask. People found that the performer looked different. This is a disabled girl. Yin Qiuhua, the 19-year-old performer, was born with Down's syndrome. Her mother, Zhao Haiying, was sad, but she knew that it was important to help her daughter to be independent(独立的). “I can’t take care of her all the time. She must have a skill to make her own living,” Zhao said. She let Yin try many training courses, but Yin didn’t do well in any of them. Luckily, they met Lin Chun, a traditional Chinese opera teacher. Lin taught Yin the face-changing art of Sichuan Opera. Yin still had great difficulty learning this skill at first, but she never gave up. She practised for eight hours a day. With the help of her teacher and mother, Yin finally made a success at her first show.
