The Spring Festival is also called Chinese New Year. It is usually in January or February. At that time, people usually have holidays. So they can spend some days with their families.
People wear new and beautiful clothes, then visit their relatives and friends. They give greetings(问候) to each other. Everybody you meet says “Happy Chinese New Year!”, and you should answer “The same to you!”.
The day before Chinese New Year is called “Chinese New Year’s Eve(除夕)”. At that night, people have a big dinner with their families. At the specified places(指定地点), they also let off the fireworks(放烟火). They are beautiful at night.
