A 70-year-old man thought his wife had a hearing problem. But he was not quite sure about it. So he asked his family doctor for help. The doctor told the husband (丈夫) an easy way to find out exactly how bad her hearing was.
“Here’s what you do,” said the doctor. “Stand about 6 metres away from her, and ask her a question as usual. If she cannot hear, go to 3 metres, then 2 metres, and so on until you get a response.”
