ElephantVoices was found by Joyce Poole and her husband Petter Granli. Poole spent most of her childhood and young adulthood in Kenya. There, she developed an early love for elephants. Later, she studied elephant behaviour at university and awarded a PhD from the University of Cambridge. She is seeing as a world expert on elephant communication.
The charity's goals include learning more about how elephants communicate, educating people about these animals and encourage better treatment of them. Because of the charity's work, important discussions held, and new policies and rules about elephant care were made.
ElephantVoices wants to help protect elephants because they cannot always protect themselves. Through this charity, elephants give a voice.
