Hi, my name is Polly. I have a pet tortoise (乌龟). His name is Speedy. I think his name is funny because Speedy walks very slowly—he is not speedy at all! Speedy is two years old now. Tortoises live for a very long time. I saw a tortoise at the zoo that was 150 years old! It is amazing!
Speedy likes being in the sun. When it is sunny outside, I play with him in the garden. But when winter comes, Speedy sleeps through the whole season. This is called hibernation (冬眠), and it is because he really hates cold weather.
