Bingling Cave-Temple Tourism Area is located in the north-west of China. It covers an area of 150 square kilometres and it is mainly made up of Bingling Lake, Bingling Stone Forest and Bingling Cave-Temple.
Bingling Lake
Bingling Lake is a huge, clean lake that meets the national level for second-class drinking water. It is famous for being the setting for the opening scene of the film A World without Thieves. You can spend about 1.5 hours taking a speed boat to enjoy its nice view or nearly 5 hours on a ship to peacefully enjoy its beauty.

Bingling Stone Forest
Bingling Stone Forest covers an area of about 30 square kilometres and is a typical Danxia landform near water. In the park, there are thousands of peaks, hundreds of narrow valleys (山谷) and paths. Together with different types of stone peaks, they
constitute a strange world of the Stone Forest.

Bingling Cave-Temple
Bingling Cave-Temple is one of the six famous grottoes (石窟) in China. In June 2014, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Inside Bingling Cave-Temple, you can see 216 caves (洞穴), 800 odd statues (塑像) and over 1,000 square metres of frescoes (壁画) of different types. You can also enjoy 56 Buddhist pagodas (佛塔). The writings inside are the earliest in China and help us know when the statue was made. They are important for us to learn the age of the early caves in China.
