On a hot July afternoon, my mother and I were walking back home from a pizza store. We bought many things. I was feeling really tired as I was carrying our shopping bag. I even wanted to throw the drink away because the drink was too heavy. Then I saw a poor man walking out of the restaurant in front of us. He walked to the nearby rubbish bin and started looking through it.
I walked up to the man and gave the drink and some bread to him. The man looked at me in surprise and took what I gave him. A big smile appeared on his face. I felt I couldn’t be happier with myself. Then he said, “Wow, thank you, boy! It’s my son’s lucky day!”
With that, he thanked me happily and left. I got a warm feeling inside. And I understood “Giving is getting.”
It was only a small action, but I got and learned more in those two minutes than I did in the rest of the month. Everyone in the world needs help. Everyone can give help and get help.

在七月一个炎热的下午,我和妈妈从一家披萨店步行回家。我们买了很多东西。因为提着购物袋,我感觉非常累。我甚至想把饮料扔掉,因为饮料太重了。然后我看到一个穷人从我们前面的餐馆走出来。他走到附近的垃圾桶旁,开始翻找。
我走到那个人面前,把饮料和一些面包给了他。那个人惊讶地看着我,接过了我给他的东西。他的脸上露出了灿烂的笑容。我觉得自己无比开心。然后他说:“哇,谢谢你,孩子!今天是我儿子的幸运日!”
