One morning, Sun Simiao goes to a hill to look for herbs(药草). On the way, a tiger comes to him and opens its big mouth. Sun finds the tiger is very thin. "It must be ill," he thinks. He walks closer and finds the tiger's swollen throat(肿胀的喉咙). "There's a bone in your throat," Sun says to the tiger. "Don't worry. I'll help you."
Afraid of being eaten by the tiger, Sun puts a ring in the tiger's mouth to keep it open. He puts his hand into its mouth and takes the bone out. He also puts some herbs on the tiger's throat. Then, he takes out the ring and the tiger runs away.
Sun goes on walking. On the way, a tiger comes to him. It puts something in front of him, lowers its head many times and then walks away. Sun picks up that thing. It is a good herb. He looks at the tiger's back. It is the tiger he helped.
