A Special Weekend

Last weekend, I went to visit my grandparents in the countryside with my parents. My father drove us there.
When we got there, my grandparents were picking apples on the farm. So we got straight to work. At first, I was happy. But after half an hour, I felt very tired. The weather was hot. I was hungry and thirsty. Most apples were high and it was difficult to get them. I didn't want to pick apples any more. Mum and Dad encouraged me to keep working. They said, "Although your grandparents are both old, they work on the farm every day." Their words made me think of the saying, "Every grain comes from hard work." I went on working and soon we finished the work.
I was tired but I enjoyed working with my hands. I ate one apple, and it tasted fresh and delicious! Farming isn't easy, so we should never waste food! It was really a memorable weekend for me.
